It has been confirmed that Brixham’s Banking Hub will open in the coming months at 62 Fore Street, the former site of Lloyds Bank.

Anthony Magnall MP has been working with Brixham Town Council and the Access to Cash Action Group since last year on a campaign to bring a new Banking Hub to the town. With the lease now having been signed, it is hoped this valuable service will open before Christmas 2022.

This one-stop hub will allow multiple banks to provide much-needed services to businesses and locals from one location.

Basic counter service will be provided by the Post Office, while more complex enquiries will be dealt with by representatives from the member banks who visit regularly. The counter service will allow businesses and individuals to deposit cash and cheques, pay bills, make withdrawals and check account balances. Change giving will also be available for registered business customers. The community banker service will vary according to the needs of the community, but will typically be provided by a different bank being present one day a week and will cover basic banking advice.

Member banks might include Lloyds Bank, TSB, Nationwide, Barclays, Santander, NatWest, HSBC, Virgin Money and Danske Bank.
