With the sun shining and many happy tourists flocking to Brixham, it seemed to be perfect timing for Simon and Sarah James to demonstrate their commitment to the thriving town by buying the freehold of Hobb Nobs – a quality gift shop located around the harbourside.

Simon said; “ We both love Brixham passionately and believe it is worth investing in. Having rented the shop for the past 7 years, it was a slightly scary moment when we decided to buy the freehold of the building, but it feels the right thing to do and we have confidence in the town. We are really looking forward to growing the business as the local economy expands.”

Hobb Nobs has extended its range of quality and quirky gifts including nautical and homeware, photos frames, kids corner and something for everyone – locals and visitors alike. It has also just launched its website – www.hobbnobs.co.uk.

For the past 4 years, Hobb Nobs also has given part of the gift shop free of charge to house the Brixham Tourist Information Centre, providing a valuable service to local residents and tourists. As Sarah explained; “With a population of almost 20,000 and over 200,000 tourists each year, we offer advice and guidance to anyone who is interested in the fantastic range of activities on offer around Brixham and the Bay in general”.

Simon is also on the Brixham Chamber Executive and very active in helping to improve the retail and town centre areas and is a RNLI volunteer and recently became a Director of Shoalstone Pool Ltd, which now operates the pool for the benefit of all.
