To celebrate 100 years of the Brixham Chamber of Commerce
£15,000 pool of grant funding available for our missions of:
Making our Community stronger
Development of our town and people
Improving our future through Commerce
In November 1923 around 50 Brixham tradesmen met to agree actions aimed at improving the town of Brixham; a hundred years later that tradition still continues.
Brixham Chamber of Commerce is taking the opportunity of its centenary year to celebrate the individuals, organisations and businesses that work to make this town a fantastic place to live.
We have £15,000 of grants available to award to projects that fall into one of our missions as a chamber: Community, Development and Commerce.
Community
A hundred years on the Brixham community remains strong and we owe so much to those people in our community who go out of their way to help others. We are looking for projects run by an individual or organisation that will strengthen the community of Brixham.
That may be by providing support to those in need, promoting welfare within the town, or even planning events to bring the people of Brixham together.
Development
The town looks very different to 1923, a combination of a million actions which while preserving our heritage, have given us this unique patchwork we call home. We are looking for projects run by an individual or organisation that will continue to push Brixham forward, making it an even better place to live.
Grant funding in this category may be for beautification works, infrastructure, education projects, or anything that has the aim of helping Brixham to continue developing while retaining that unique Brixham charm.
Commerce
The chamber was founded by traders that understood the benefits of looking beyond their own business’s threshold and investing in the town as a whole. These investments of time and money were repaid tenfold and the town has become more prosperous as a result. We are looking for projects run by a local entrepreneur or business that aim to make Brixham more prosperous in the long run.
This may be through beautification works, infrastructure, investing in a community project, or any other idea where the benefits to Brixham can be evidenced.
