Applications are being sought for the latest round of Devon County Council’s Business Promotion Grant.
Grants of up to £1,500 are available to help companies looking to reach new customers. The funding, which is offered through a competitive bidding process, is aimed at helping businesses to cover exhibiting costs to promote their products and services to audiences at high-profile UK trade shows and events outside the county.
More than 30 companies have already benefited from the funding scheme, which was launched in 2016 showcasing their brands at events such as the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, the London Toy Fair, the Olympia Horse Show, and the VegFest UK Trade Show.
The scheme is part of the Devon Delivers programme, which promotes Devon as an innovative business location with great businesses.
Councillor Rufus Gilbert, DCC cabinet member for economy and skills, said: “The feedback from companies that have received the Business Promotion Grant is that it has been extremely useful in helping them attend important trade shows. Opening up the potential of finding new clients and customers can help businesses with their development, and the benefit is that it also showcases Devon as home of innovative business, which helps the county’s growing economy.”
The grants are only available to businesses or organisations based in Devon and providing products or services originating substantially in the county. Preference will be given to businesses promoting a new product or serice, and also to those in key sectors, including digital/creative, advanced engineering, business/professional, food and drink,
research/science, energy and marine.
The grant will support eligible businesses to cover direct exhibition costs of attending a trade show or event between July 2018 and March 2019.
The exact amounts awarded will be at the discretion of the Devon Delivers team, based on the quality of the application and how it meets Devon Delivers priorities.

Successful applicants will be notified by Monday 16 July.
