FACT (Feed a Child Torbay) is a a ‘not for profit community project’ established in 2017 to feed children during school holidays – initially as a temporary measure until the new Universal Credit benefit system, was modified and IMPROVED to help families – rather than plunge them into food poverty – unfortunately that didn’t happen and the number of children living below the food poverty line increased. FACT provide two non-perishable meal kits per family per week over the holidays and for the past 4 years, when asked by the schools, they have also provided ‘Breakfast Kits’ for children to ensure they have something to eat at the start of the day.

To prepare and store the packs for schools in Paignton they have the use of the ARC (Army Reserve Centre) and for the Torquay schools they are fortunate to have use of volunteers facilities.

They are now desperately seeking help in preparing the packs for Brixham:

  1. an easily accessible, secure ‘ground level’ facilty for storage and with space for volunteers to assemble the packs for a couple of weeks before each school holiday break
  2. volunteers to help put the packs together
