Brixham Food Bank is appealing urgently for food and/or funds to help families in need in the town.

The Food Bank, which is based at the back of Brixham Library, is staffed by volunteers who work six days a week to provide vital supplies to people who are struggling financially.

Former manager Steve Bates said demand at Brixham Food Bank has been very high. He continued “Without the donations we receive from local businesses, we would really struggle to feed the people who need our help. We need tins of anything but especially soups, pasta, packet sauces, frozen goods and toiletries. We require proof of need from people who come to us for help and it is clear that there are many, many people who are facing real hardship. We find that people who we have been able to help often come back to us with food supplies when their situations improve. It is rewarding to know that we have been able to help them get through a difficult time.”
