The Brixham Chamber AGM takes place on Tuesday 24 February at 7pm at the Berry Head Hotel, where the 2014 report and accounts will be reviewed together with key achievements for last year. This will be followed by the election of Executive members for 2015. Download an agenda here
There are many challenges for the coming year and, as a voluntary body, the Chamber is totally dependent on the input of its executive and membership. To enable us to build together on recent successes and to continue to help Brixham and its businesses to prosper, we need individuals to help out with various roles and initiatives.
If you have skills in leadership, organisation, communication and support or a simply a passion for Brixham and the desire and time to help out, please come along to the AGM and volunteer. We look forward to seeing you there.
We were honoured to have Dr Sarah Wollaston, MP for Brixham and Totnes as our guest speaker at the last General Meeting of the Brixham Chamber. Over 50 people attended to hear Sarah’s thoughts and advice on a range of ideas to help boost the local economy. Sarah spoke about the 4 key concerns that businesses had when she became an MP in 2010 – improving transport connections, business rates, access to finance and employment tribunals. In an interesting and interactive session, Sarah led discussion on each of these topics together with other issues such as parking charges. Details can be downloaded here.
