The Guardhouse Cafe, Berry Head
Contact: Alex Foley
Our friendly and welcoming café is situated within a Napoleonic Fort on Berry Head, with stunning views across Torbay and the South Devon coast.
We serve a range of local hot and cold food, fairtrade coffee, Teapigs tea, alcoholic and soft drinks – and of course the famous Guardhouse Cream Teas! Everyone is welcome, including four-legged family members.
Berry Head itself is a fantastic place to visit for a few hours. There is great walking and fishing; rare wildlife including regular sightings of dolphins and porpoise; the largest colony of Guillemots in the South of England; history in the form of the Napoleonic-era fort, cannon, and occasional reenactment battles. Berry Head has something for everyone (even before trying our fabulous food).
We are open every day of the year except Christmas Day, from 9am to 5pm (4pm in winter). We also run some special themed restaurant evenings – see our website for details.
