The RHS are proposing to trial a new category for their Britain in Bloom competition, where a defined area can be separated out from a whole Town or City and submitted for assessment. The thinking behind this is due to a number of concerns being raised regarding the current condition of Town Centres and High Streets.  They would like to emphasise however, that entry into this new category should not be at the expense of any main entry.  They would for example accept any main entry submitting in addition a central part of their entry for consideration. They would also welcome any new entries with just a Town Centre

Remember, it’s not just about flowers, Judges will be looking at general streetscene, such as signage, street furniture etc.

There will be no entry fee into this new category, however if this trial proves successful then it is likely that they will introduce a small entry fee for those wishing to enter in 2018. The awards will take on the traditional format of Gold, Silver Gilt, Silver and Bronze.

They will be posting the judging criteria for this new category in due course.
