Brixham Future, Brixham Town Council, Pride in Brixham, Brixham Community Partnership, Brixham Chamber of Commerce with help from the Brixham Public are organising a Spring Clean for the Queen day on Saturday 19th March from 10 to 4pm.
The Aim: to combine an Easter clean-up before the holiday starts with a clean-up of Brixham to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday. We will be weeding, cleaning and litter picking. Also on display in the Town Centre will be one of the rubbish collecting “Belly Bins” which are solar powered and the very latest weapon in collecting rubbish. Everyone is welcome.
We aim to have collection points around the town, where you can collect bags, gloves and Hi Vis vests etc. You will also be able to return rubbish to these points for collection by Tor 2 and/or volunteers. The collection points will be manned between these times.
Suggestions so far for clean-up areas are: Town square and car park; Fore Street, Middle Street and the Lanes; The Skate Park; Summer Lane; Summercombe/top of Chestnut Drive; St. Mary’s Square/Park; Shoalstone Pool area; Furzeham green area; and Penn Meadows.
Within the Town Centre you are welcome to drop in for however long you can spare. If you are able to do a 2 hour slot during these times please let us have a contact number for you so that we can provide enough tools and gloves.
Mary and her Pride in Brixham Team will be out in force around the harbour area that day.
Please wear sensible clothing and shoes.
We plan to have a leaflet drop in the various areas soon and we will need people on the day to be at the collection points to relieve people of their rubbish.
