Award winning Brixham based business, Flossy & Jim, will be one of the guest speakers at the Torbay Business Festival next month.  The creators of the Flossy & Jim brand, illustrators Lynette and James Dare will be talking about their journey ‘From Bankruptcy to Hollywood’.

Over 500 people are expected at the business event on Thursday 11th October at the Riviera Centre in Torquay.  With the aim of bringing businesses together, the event has been organised by the local voluntary group, Torbay Business Forum (TBF) and is sponsored by the Torbay Development Agency and Bays Brewery.

Said TBF Chair Steve Reynolds; “This is the third year we are holding this major business event and the excitement is building up for what should be a great day.  The Festival is a great way to celebrate the diverse companies that flourish in this beautiful area. “

Brixham based TBF Vice Chair, Angela George said; “There will be 70 exhibitors in the main Forum area, including Jacqui Shaw and Pauline Neal from Coralline Health – a local healthcare insurance service based in Brixham.  On top of this, we have an impressive line up of speakers who will be talking on the hour for half an hour including the fun and quirky Flossy & Jim”.

In between the presentations, people can visit the exhibitor stands and enjoy networking with local businesses. At 4pm there will be a Bays Brewery sponsored reception as the exhibition officially ends. “

Steve will open the event, before handing over to Jim Parker from the Herald Express who will talk about ‘Torbay Together’ and the ‘Now is the time’ campaign. Carolyn Custerson from the English Riviera BID Company then gives a brief update on the Tourism market.
